The Association of Certified Treasury Managers (ACTM) was established in 1998 as a non-profit society with the objective of developing a new cadre of treasury professionals through a world-class certification program in treasury and forex management and rigorous membership standards for professional practice and ethics.```

Objectives

The objectives of ACTM include:

  • To develop and regulate the growth of the profession of treasury management on sound ethical lines through rigorous standards for membership, certification, professional practice, continuing education and other means.
  • To organize seminars, workshops and training programs in treasury management, foreign exchange management, risk management and allied areas for the benefit of the members, students, teachers, executives and others.
  • To organize research, directly and through sponsorship, into treasury, foreign exchange and risk management and allied areas.
  • To publish books, magazines, journals, articles, monographs, reports on topics of interest to members and students
  • To develop a Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice for the members and ensure compliance.
  • To develop and maintain inter-institutional relationship with other professional, educational and research organizations for the benefit of members of the Association.
  • To establish vocational and employment guidance center to provide placement assistance for members and students.
  • To do all such other things that are necessary to achieve the above objectives.

Certification and Designation

All the students who successfully complete the PGDTFM Program are eligible to become members of ACTM subject to fulfilling the criteria for such membership. All the students are required to pay the prescribed fee towards membership in ACTM before they appear for the final group examinations. ACTM confers the designation of "Certified Treasury Manager" on its members. Only those members whose names are duly recorded in the Register of Members of ACTM are authorized to use the designation of "Certified Treasury Manager" (in full) and "CTM" (in brief).

Code of Ethics

ACTM has developed a comprehensive Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice. All members are required to strictly adhere to the Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice.

Global Affiliation

As a part of its effort to establish a close networking relationship with leading professional bodies engaged in treasury management across the world, ACTM joined the International Group of Treasury Associations (IGTA), United Kingdom, as a full member representing India.
